K9Vets.org was started by Deer Creek Farm to help re-home Military and Law Enforcement Working Dogs, as well as Working-Line dogs who were used for breeding or did not make it into or through training. These dogs have served their country and communities and now they are looking for a forever home.
These dogs will give you unconditional love, and they have been shown to be psychologically, emotionally and physically beneficial to their handler. Caring for a dog can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment and lessen feelings of loneliness. When you adopt, you can also feel proud about helping a dog in need!
These dogs are very active and most have a high prey drive. They require a lot of attention and plenty of room to run around and play. Like people, each dog has their own personality and get along better with one person than another. Some get along with other animals while others prefer to be an only child. We will make every effort to match the right family with the right dog.
If interested in one of our furry friends, please go to our Contact Us page and tell us a little bit about you and your family. Please include all members of the house including small children and newborns. Tell us a little about your home (example: House in a neighborhood with a nice yard or an apartment right around the corner from the local dog park). Please tell us about any other pets that reside in your household. Make sure to include your email and phone number so we can get back in touch with you.
*** All K9Vets adoptions are FREE of charge but do require the canine to be microchipped and spayed or neutered if still intact.
This is Zuka, she is a very loving eight (8) year old (DOB: 4/24/2016) AKC Registered Belgian Malinois. She is a great companion, very affectionate, and is a perfect lap dog. She does great with male dogs but doesn't get along as well with other females. She loves being with her handler and is tied at the hips with you when out and about. Like all K9Vets.org adoptions, she will either be spayed or be required to be spayed upon adoption. Please contact us if interested in meeting Ms. Zuka.
This is Nika, who found her forever home. She now has two brothers named Kiwi (cat) and Clyde (fish). She spends her days relaxing on the couch and her nights hogging all the covers. Thanks to her new owner, her quality of life has greatly improved and I like to think her new owner's quality of life has improved also. Imagine the impact you can have on a dog's life by adopting a Retired Working Dog.
